Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA)

	The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) is the leading national trade association for the solar energy industry. We work to expand markets, strengthen research and development, remove market barriers and improve education and outreach for solar energy professionals.

Located in Washington, D.C., SEIA was founded in 1974.
The 501 c (6) trade group is composed of four main departments: Government Affairs, Meetings, Communications and Membership. Primary activities are to effectuate federal policy that reduces barriers and improves market conditions for the U.S. solar energy market. A separate 501 c(3) called the Solar Energy Research and Education Foundation (SEREF) oversees policy-driven research and develops education outreach programs to promote positive policy and further deployment of solar energy in the U.S. SEIA also manages a Political Action Committee (PAC) for political fundraising.

SEIA coordinates with several state and regional chapters and other groups including the American Solar Energy Society, Solar Alliance, Solar Electric Power Association, Solar Nation and Vote Solar along with numerous renewable energy, business and environmental groups.
